Tips and advice

With the festive season almost here many of us are experiencing that last minute panic to get the spare room looking good for your guests. We’ve got a few tips to make sure your guests feel at home.

Bedding

Nothing finishes a room like a well-dressed bed. Upgrading your linen is a quick and relatively inexpensive way to refresh the space. If you need some inspiration check out noods range of cushions to help give the room a burst of newness. Adding a few cushions is a great way to introduce colour to a bedroom and make the space feel cozy and welcoming. Adding a throw or having extra blankets available is also a good idea for the cooler nights.

Think practical

Nobody enjoys living out of a suitcase. Where possible make sure there is somewhere for this to be stored. Even better, have some empty drawers and a wardrobe so your guest can unpack and feel a bit more at home. Ample storage and empty space will make it easier for your guest to spread out feel organised while on holiday. Occasional chairs are also great as it gives your guest somewhere to sit other than the bed, or a place to put their bag/jacket at the end of the day.

Accessorizing the room

Finding the right balance of home accessories is tricky. You don’t want the room to feel too sterile, however at the same time you need to allow space for your guests to spread out and make themselves at home. Fresh flowers (or dried) are a nice touch (check your guest doesn’t suffer from Hayfever!) and a couple of small ornaments will add some colour and personality to the space without overdoing it.

Limited space

Maybe you don’t have a dedicated guest bedroom and you are attempting to convert a home office or gym into a spare room for a few weeks. Think versatile, there are lots of sofa beds on the market that can double as a small sofa and easily convert into a bed on those few occasions you need somewhere for friends and family to stay. With good storage you can hide away your personal belongings and make the space feel tidy and welcoming. Nood have plenty of new storage options available.
