With a background in interior design Julia saw an opportunity to give NZ + Australian brands and creatives exposure in an independent online form. This provided a fantastic platform for many years with Julia seeking a change of direction in 2017. Studio Home has since become a place for Julia to share the inner workings of what she enjoys and curates for her home – inside and out. She shares edits and essays aimed to engage more with her audience around creating home spaces that reflect the tastes and lifestyles of those that live in them.

Most recently Julia is pursuing what she says is her biggest passion at the expense of her bank account – ART. In late 2018 Studio Home ART HOUSE was launched, providing a growing online art gallery with exciting New Zealand artwork and an ongoing series of pop up art shows, hosted both in her home and around the country. ART HOUSE continues to thrive, based on the idea of displaying her favourite artists creations and inviting the community into her home to view and purchase art in an easy going environment plus have a bit of a squizz around the place.

Julia and her husband live in a stunning blue villa in Christchurch, New Zealand where they enjoy spending time pottering around, exploring new adventures in gardening and very much creating a nest that works for their own lifestyle.

If you visit her website you can spend hour upon hour reading her thoughts, expert advice and interviews on a range of topics from architecture through to product design or even her new found passion of gardening.

Look out for our new mini-series from Julia coming soon!
